Established in 1856, Atlanta Gas Light Company (AGL) is one of the oldest and most reputable utility companies in the Southeast. In 1998, however, a state-mandated initiative known as deregulation changed the future of the company.

Prior to 1998, AGL both sold and distributed natural gas to its customers. But in the years following deregulation, AGL customers were given the opportunity to transfer their gas service from the more expensive AGL to an alternative GA gas supplier offering cheaper gas prices. The company’s customers took advantage of this opportunity and in doing so potentially reduced their monthly GA gas bills.

As the largest natural gas distributor in the Southeast, AGL continues to distribute reliable natural gas to more than 1.5 million customers throughout Georgia; however, its customer can now purchase their natural gas from a lower-cost alternative supplier. To make the switch yourself, simply use our free website to compare natural gas prices in Georgia. Once you find an alternative gas supplier offering the cheapest gas prices in GA, request a transfer in service. In a few billing cycles, you’ll receive the new gas rate. It’s that simple!

Whether you live in Atlanta, Savannah, Brunswick, Macon, or Columbus, compare Georgia natural gas prices today!
